Hello and welcome to my portfolio.
I am Kristina "Kris" Ahmed and this portfolio was designed to represent my work in the San Francisco State Universities Masters in Public Health Program. As well as my professional work in teen pregnancy and STD prevention.
As the Associate Director and Senior Health Educator of the Teen Pregnancy Prevention Coalition of San Mateo County, I have been actively involved in the prevention of unwanted teen pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases for over six years. I am passionate about comprehensive sexuality education and providing teens with factual, medically accurate information that allows them to live sexually healthy lives.
My undergruaduate work at the University of California at Santa Barbara (UCSB) in Psychology provided me with a strong foundation for working with people. My desire to study human sexuality and public health began at UCSB and I have continued forward with these ambitions ever since. My work in the MPH program at SFSU helped me refine my skills as a health educator and administrator. I have become an even stronger advocate for sexuality/health education and reproductive health care for youth.
